The lamps celebrate two concurrent
projects by DONIS—one built, one theoretical. On one hand, the new landmark of
Dubai, the Dubai Frame, a project that frames the past and future of the city.
On the other, the Frame PhD research, an urban-historical study of the
archetype of the frame in Mexican culture.
As art objects, the lamps translate
these ideas into the domestic and office scale, framing interior space and
illuminating the everyday.
